The most common reason exotic pets need veterinary treatment is due to inappropriate husbandry. We are happy to offer husbandry advice tailored to the needs of the species you keep. In addition, we can offer advice if you are considering keeping an exotic species. Just like any other pet it is recommended that exotic animals are seen regularly by a vet to ensure overall general health.

Avian: We offer a range of services for birds of all sizes. We are equipped to hospitalise and provide supportive care including oxygen therapy, nutritional support and fluids in critical patients. Routine parasite assessment is possible using faecal samples. We can give advice on common behavioural problems and help with their long term management.  Available diagnostics include blood sampling, x-ray and cytology.

Reptile:   Snakes, lizards, turtles and tortoises (among others) require a degree of specialist care when they are ill. We offer supportive care for debilitated reptiles and perform health checks on healthy reptiles. As with birds faecal sampling can be done to control parasites, which are common in captive reptiles. Available diagnostics include blood sampling, x-ray and cytology.

Rabbits and Other Small Mammals: Rabbits are the third most popular pet in the UK and they are a common patient in veterinary practices. We offer a variety of routine health services for small mammals including yearly examinations, worming and dental examination. In addition, for rabbits we offer neutering and vaccination against Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease (strains 1 and 2) and Myxomatosis. Hospitalisation and supportive care are available for all small mammals. Diagnostics include blood sampling, x-ray and cytology.

***If your rabbit has not eaten for 12 hours that is an emergency and you should seek veterinary care.***
